What made me think about this was probably when i saw the most beautiful sunset ever and didnt have my camera.
I was driving to Sedgwick to watch my brothers basketball game and was driving on the interstate around Newton. Just before the first roundabout there is an awesome view of an old grain elevator and some railroad tracks running by it. Normall I am speeding by at 75mph, but i always look to the right to just admire the view. Tonight was different.
It was about 6:40 and the sun had just set. As i looked over to my right like always when i get to that aprt of the road i suddenly noticed the sunset. It was too good to pass up so i actually pulled to the shoulder and got out of my car to look at it (not safe i know, but who cares). The sky in the horizon was a brilliant blood red, while fading back to the east gradually from brilliant red, to an intense pink, to a muted shade of purple, all the way to a dark navy blue shade to the west.
And the clouds. There is now way i can put this into words. Slightly poofy, yet still whispy clouds in the horizon, all a light blue/gray shade on top, but a brilliant pink on the bottom. It was the most beautiful thing i have seen since my trip to colorado.
And all of it without having my camera. *tear*
